dropping knowledgeis a global initiative to support the free and open
sharing of knowledge among the people of the world. Born out of the
unprecedented democratizing power of the Internet, dropping
knowledge employs advanced web-technology to empower the global
public to ask the questions that matter to them and seek new
solutions through community dialog.

The dropping knowledge G8 Summer Camp will bring together an international team of filmmakers, photographers, bloggers, designers and web programmers. This experimental online project will give participating creatives a platform for broad and balanced artistic expression and interpretation of the events and actions around the G8 Summit.

Videos produced by the Summer Camp will also appear on a screen installation at Art Goes Heiligendamm. This will give visitors daily visual impressions of what is happening around the summit - an alternative to mainstream media coverage of the G8 and protest movement.
